Moorish Surnames
To this day, we have people (mostly Spanish/Latin in origin) with Moor-related surnames, and even first names.
A few surnames that come to mind are in three categories:
Religious: Medina
Arabic Al=the: Alvarado, Alhambra, Alvarez
Arabic Z: Zambrano

Jeri as a last name I can't find the origin or meaning.
Could be Sabah al Jeri, or Jery, or Jericho.
Aparently inmigrants came from Europe to South America on 1800 or before.
Any help I will apreciate.
